Sauvignon Blanc and Swimming Pools
Ah, the quintessential summer pairing… a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc and the not-too-distant splash of a swimming pool.
But thanks to Level 6 water restrictions in the Cape at the moment, you may have had to do without the afore-mentioned splash. Still, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy a chilled, crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc to while away the last of the long summer evenings.
Just as refreshing as a midnight dip, Constantia Uitsig’s Sauvignon Blanc is a much-loved favourite in the valley and abroad. Thanks to the cool Atlantic breezes that roll in and over Constantia’s lowest lying vineyards, expect a bracing freshness from the first sip to the very last. Awarded a very respectable 4 stars in John Platter’s 2018 Wine Guide, passionfruit, citrus and fig notes are woven into a creamy texture thanks to some fine-lees contact and a splash of Semillon.
Paired with a fresh Caesar Salad (made from scratch or ordered from Uitsig’s new deli, Nest), there’s no better way to save water and stay smiling.
